Urgent Action Fund-Africa and the OpEd Project are calling upon young, dynamic and socially aware individuals to take part in an interactive 3-day Op-Ed workshop. The workshop is designed to develop your critical media literacy skills and your strategic communications skills.
The workshop will strengthen your personal readiness to: increase assurance in media performance; develop enhanced writing skills to amplify the impact of your activism; explore and strategise on ways in which the use of online tools can translate into offline actions for change; and build the capacities to effectively and timeously articulate ‘urgent’ issues affecting women’s human rights in Africa. The workshop also serves to foster community among colleagues and enhance the cross-pollination of ideas. At the end of the workshop, you will be able and expected to develop and deliver messages to print, TV and radio journalists in a clear and confident way.
This is a unique opportunity to gather with other women’s rights activists and allies and deliberate on the meanings and tools necessary to clearly articulate the most urgent and pressing needs and conditions facing women across the continent.
The workshop targets women’s human rights activists who identify as women (35 years and younger), with valid travel documents to travel to Kenya.
